Piece made by hand in Nathalie Reocreux's studio.

What Nathalie Reocreux enjoys most in ceramics is experimentation: gathering materials, grinding, pounding, sieving and mixing them, then revealing them through the flame.
She uses clays she gathers near her home in the Périgord or while travelling, as well as clays from small operations. The process is slow: pressing the clay between her fingers, she removes the largest stones and debris and leaves the rest, which creates decoration during firing.
She also uses materials she finds to make her glazes (granite, quartz, schist, haematite, wood and plant ashes...).
A slow way of working that lets chance guide her.
