Ambre Hervo
A ceramist for over fifteen years, based near Nantes (44), Ambre Hervo works with porcelain and some local clays mainly on the wheel to create utilitarian, decorative objects and lighting fixtures.
Inspired by the understated and minimalist look of the material, she likes to give her pieces an aesthetic that is both contemporary and imbued with traditional forms.
The series of unique pieces "Pottery for Helga" is a personal reinterpretation of the Korean Moonjar.
Its antinomic aspect evokes the resilience of the earth in the face of fire; it is unclear whether the piece will flake away to reveal its initial form or whether it is mutating towards a more abstract and contemporary destination.
