PepperClay Ceramics
Sophie discovered ceramics by entering a small Japanese craft shop in Paris in 2012. From then on, she began to practice turning and sculpture, until passing her CAP in 2016 at the Chemins de la Céramique school in Montreuil.
In her workshop, PepperClay Ceramic, located at the gates of Paris (Charenton Le Pont), she produces unique pieces or small series using different techniques (mainly turning, but also sculpture, modelling, engraving, deformations, patinas...). His enamels come from his "long" personal research. She likes to play with contrasts (the grain of the terracotta with the satin softness of the enamel, for example), the nuances and effects of her enamels in natural colors, and the trace of the potter's hand.
She finds great joy in producing utilitarian pieces, which will accompany people in their daily lives, and pays particular attention to the finishes (weight, softness, etc.) and to the extra soul of each creation.
