Based in Bidart, Mélissa Ruffault works on pieces that are simple and timeless, halfway between utilitarian and sculpture.
His pieces are made one by one by hand, very often unique pieces or produced in very small series, using various techniques such as lathe, modelling, coiling and plate.
His ceramics use a repertoire of forms that are both primary and architectural, between irregular organic designs and more drawn linear sculptures.
In a minimalist and refined style, Mélissa shapes sandstone pieces, where the earth is sometimes enamelled, sometimes left raw, with a common thread based on neutral tones ranging from white to beige, and aiming to cross the time.
