This piece was created by Maya Carves in her workshop in Barcelona, Spain, inspired by shiboridashi, which are Japanese tea utensils used to brew Japanese green teas. This teapot can also be used as a small container or pourer for sauce, milk, etc.
Handcrafted on the Mediterranean coast and inspired by the mountains, Maya Carves focuses on handcrafted ceramics that combine function and art, celebrating the beauty of everyday objects through sustainable creations made in small batches.
The stoneware pieces are entirely handmade and upon close inspection you will be able to observe and appreciate charming irregularities in each piece.
All functional and decorative ceramic objects are made using various hand-modeling techniques or the potter's wheel, then textured, faceted and decorated by hand.
