The wild textures, organic forms, and raw colors that Julia Gilles employs stem from her interpretation of the world. Her creations are inspired by the landscapes she observes, their nuances, and their reliefs.
Her stoneware production is divided into two phases: tableware and large-format, unique decorative pieces. Her pieces are created using various shaping techniques: wheel throwing, slab building, coiling, and stamping. Once dry, the pieces are intuitively glazed with a brush and fired in a single firing in a gas kiln at 1300°C.
