Handmade piece from Samantha Kerdine's studio.
Samantha Kerdine lives and works in Paris. Trained in design, she develops ceramic work on the border between use and image.
Her pieces take the form of vases, plates, wall pieces or freer volumes. She is drawn to domestic objects and ordinary scenes — what makes up daily life, what passes by. For her, painting on ceramics is a way of fixing in the material what would otherwise disappear.
This series brings together a set of small dishes painted with floral motifs, along with several recent experiments around the mirror and the lamp. She continues a body of work playing on recurring motifs, each object becoming a support for painting and the exploration of new formats.
