Stoneware piece handmade by Apollonie Ceramics in Paris
Lorraine Grouvel is a French-Canadian ceramicist now based in Paris. Her pieces, signed under the name of her studio Apollonie Ceramics, are situated in a raw, understated universe imbued with fragility, which is also reflected in her choice of materials.
Lorraine began working with clay in 2014 in Montreal, where she joined a community workshop. Returning to Paris in 2021, she continues her exploration of forms and textures.
Working mainly with stoneware, porcelain and paper clay, she combines different modeling techniques.
