Piece made by hand in Nathalie Reocreux's workshop.
What Nathalie Reocreux likes most about ceramics is the experimentation. Gathering materials, grinding them, pounding them, sieving them, mixing them and revealing them through flame.
Nathalie Reocreux uses clay that she gathers from her home in Brittany or while traveling, as well as clay from small farms. The process is very long: she removes the largest pebbles and debris by pressing the clay between her fingers. The ceramicist leaves the rest; this creates a decorative effect during firing.
Nathalie also uses materials she finds for the manufacture of her enamels (granite, quartz, schist, hematite, wood and plant ash...)
A production that takes time and lets itself be guided by chance.
