The Brutal Ceramics store in Paris
After several years of online sales, Brutal Ceramics continues its adventure by opening its store in the heart of Paris, in the Voltaire district (11th arrondissement). A perfect opportunity to tell you about the evolution of Brutal Ceramics since its beginnings.
In September 2018, I founded Brutal Ceramics after spending a year in Japan. I then want to create an e-shop for the online sale of ceramic pieces around the utilitarian object and the collector's item by collaborating with ceramists from France and Japan. I quit my job as an architect to throw myself 100% into the adventure.
The first collection is a success, the entire stock sells out in a few days. I then work from home, the parts and boxes are stored in a room, order pick-ups are organized in my living room. Very quickly, I organize the next selections of ceramists by going as much as possible to visit them in their workshops. A collection has even been launched from Berlin where I put my suitcases down for a short year.
Back in Paris in November 2019, I have the chance and the opportunity to share a large office with two architects ( Evane and Romain ). I have a little more room to work, receive clients, store more, because the collections are growing and bringing together more and more ceramists and pieces. I am delighted to share a place with friends with whom I can discuss, share my doubts in terms of entrepreneurship.
Thanks to the success of successive sales, Brutal finds itself once again cramped…Everything takes up too much space. In addition, the premises are located on the 4th floor of a building without a lift, which makes it increasingly difficult to transport the ceramics.
Finding a location just for Brutal Ceramics is then a no-brainer. It is in the 11th that I find a bright space on the ground floor, with a window, on the street. I visit this room in February 2021. A few months and confinements later, the keys are finally mine! Evane helps me to design this minimalist, multiple and modular space according to the different activities and events initiated by Brutal Ceramics: a place to work, a place to store, a place to sell, and a place to meet you.
After a few months of work, and the birth of my son, I am opening the place to the public for the first time in December 2021. This is the first collection launched in physics, and again, you were there . I was able to meet you, advise you, present the parts to you. The Brutal Ceramics space is now open Wednesday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. You're ost welcome. To come and see, touch, contemplate the beautiful pieces from our collections, or simply discuss our common passion. I hope to see many of you.
