Piece made by hand in the PepperClay Ceramic workshop in Charenton Le Pont. Sophie discovered ceramics by entering a small Japanese craft shop in Paris in 2012. From then on, she began to practice turning and sculpture, until passing her CAP in 2016 at the Chemins de la Céramique school in Montreuil. She makes unique pieces or in small series using different techniques (mainly turning, but also sculpture, modelling, engraving, deformations, patinas...). His enamels come from his "long" personal research. She likes to play with contrasts (the grain of the chamotte clay with the satin softness of the enamel, for example), the nuances and effects of her enamels in natural colors, and the trace of the potter's hand.
MATERIALS : Juno chamotte (sand-coloured earth) with high temperature firing (1280°C)
TECHNIQUE : The plates are turned by hand, then sanded one after the other before the first cooking to bring in the chamotte on the lips and the foot. They will be sanded again with a diamond sponge after the second firing to ensure comfort of use ("soft" stacking, no scratches on the table)
EMAIL : The email comes from personal research. This is an enamel with a satin finish whose base contains talc. Its whiteness is accentuated by the addition of a little tin oxide.
COLOUR : White satin effect
DIMENSIONS : Ø 22cm approximately, 2cm high
