This piece is made by hand in Judith Lasry's workshop in Burgundy for Brutal Ceramics
Judith lives and works in the countryside, in Burgundy in the territory of Puisaye-Forterre, in a country rich in pottery tradition that she has known since her childhood. Her grandparents had set up a music and improvisation school in the 70s. After China, Paris and Brussels, she moved there in 2017 and found a space conducive to creativity and greater independence. . A form of freedom and abandonment that she constantly seeks and questions, in her relationship to time, to living things, to habitat, to what surrounds her.
Her approach to ceramics is instinctive and inspiring, giving shape to singular objects that we share and allow into our daily rituals. The use of natural materials and primary techniques are the quintessence of his creative universe, hand modeling of local clays, integration of ashes, ochres, marls, collective wood firing, etc.
At each stage of her process, she integrates audacity and a hint of the unexpected, breaking certain codes with poetry.
