Stoneware salad bowl handmade in the London workshop of Ana Kerin, from Studio Kana London.
Ana Kerin, trained in fine arts sculpture. In 2012, in the continuity of her studies, she created the ceramic studio Kana London. The tactile aesthetic, the construction by hand, the traces of her fingerprints and her hands on the surface are practices of sculpture that Ana was able to transport to functional ceramics.
Her approach is experimental and playful, as she never follows a procedure and invents new recipes every day. She works with unique blends of clays and creates her own glazes, often turning her back on the practice of traditional ceramics. Building by hand, modeling rather than working on a lathe allows each piece to create a singularity.
