This piece is handmade in Judith Lasry's workshop in Burgundy.

Judith shapes her ceramics in a raw, expressive gesture, exploiting the play of randomness. Her favorite technique is hand sculpting.

MATERIALS : Saint-Amand chamotte sandstone

COOKING : Wood-fired oven with closed flame, of the Olsen or Phoenix type with some construction variants. Interior volume 1.2 m3. The chimney and the chamber are above the two alandiers, which are open on the same side. Thus heated, the chimney draws faster. 3 cubic meters of wood necessary for the basin of the oven and the cooking which lasts approximately 24 hours. They were a team of 6 potters to bake the kiln, because it requires a lot of human and physical energy.
The cooking is not reductive, the atmosphere of the oven has remained in oxidation, they have voluntarily decided not to make a reduction.

TECHNIQUE : Pinched modeling

ENAMEL : harvested sandstone slip + ash enamel

COLOUR : Shade of whites
