Solenne Belloir designs her pieces as hybrid creatures, somewhere between antique and futurism. Its handles that extend around its pieces allow it to build a sphere, a fragile armor that imposes an empty space, a breath.
In her creations, the presence of matter is as important as its absence, Solenne aspires to leave only what is essential in her eyes. The ceramist likes to think that her creations are not only made of earth, but also of air. Technically, she works with different high-temperature clays, often chamotted, white or black sandstone or which she tints directly in the mass. She alternates between the wheel and the modeling which allow me, by combining forms of very different natures, to explore always more.
