This is a small plate named "mamezara" in Japanese from the Komon series, from the Japanese manufacturer Kihara, originally from southern Japan on the island of Kyushu. Patterns are very present in traditional Japanese dishes.
Rice has been revered since ancient times as it is believed to be owned by God. It is an auspicious motive. The small size of the plate allows you to imagine all kinds of uses: small pistachios for an aperitif, pickles during a Japanese meal, a little sweetness for a snack... It is the ideal plate for making a small gift.
