Plate handmade in the studio of potter Atsushi Funakushi in Japan. Atsushi is a ceramic artist based in Kasama, Japan. After completing an apprenticeship and working with the Japanese ceramist, Yoshiki Sakai, he moved into his studio.
He creates pottery with an often silvery texture that looks like metal that defies the materiality of ceramics. Fluffy and soft, its white pottery which contrasts with the previous one.
The accent with the use of a traditional ceramic technique called "metsuchi". It incorporates ridges in place of feet to produce pattern-like patterns.
