This piece is handmade in Judith Lasry's workshop in Burgundy for Brutal Ceramics.
Judith shapes her ceramics in a raw, expressive gesture, exploiting the play of randomness. Her favorite technique is hand sculpting.
MATERIALS : White pyrite sandstone
TECHNIQUE : Modeling
ENAMEL : Enamel resulting from personal research with vegetable ashes: vine shoots. Reduction cooking with gas, which brings out the pyrites
COLOUR : Shades of white with some brown spots due to the vine shoots
DIMENSIONS : Ø 21.5m approximately
USES AND MAINTENANCE:
Microwave: Yes (with precautions)
Dishwasher: Yes
Oven: No
Food: Yes. Avoid foods with too much coloring (beets/cherries)
Avoid slicing on the plate with the knife. The enamel is delicate with small indentations and pimples, avoid using sharp objects, rather a plate for cakes, cheeses, dessert...
NOTE: Like any handcrafted product, these pieces may have slight variations in shape, color and thickness.
