After 25 years of experience and consulting with numerous companies and industries as a designer-colorist and teaching this practice in design and architecture schools, Sonia Deleani decided in 2020 to devote herself fully to the practice of ceramics, always explored as an amateur. Since her studies in Applied Arts, she has cultivated an inclination for materials, textures, the precision of a detail, the rigor of the processes. This attention finds its full meaning in ceramic practice, demanding and liberating.
By setting up his workshop in Drôme Provençale, near Dieulefit, a historic territory of potters and welcoming land, a global life project is taking shape.
All his pieces are modeled by hand using different techniques (pinching, stamping, plate, coils... few tools, a lot of time) Slowly polished for some, rubbed for others, bringing out the grain of the clay. Made from high-temperature stoneware or porcelain, they are engobed and enameled according to personal and often renewed recipes, based on ashes and natural oxides.
